The WHITCHER RANCH is a Cow/Calf Operation in the BADLANDS of SOUTH DAKOTA. We collect and artificially inseminate the mares right here on our ranch which keeps the expenses down for our customers and our success rate of getting the mares settled is high. We are trying to raise exceptional ARENA HORSES with the BEST BLOODLINES that we can modestly afford. Jim has an excellent eye for evaluating potential in a horse, he knows the bloodlines, and he enjoys riding and eventually training horses he has raised. We have an indoor arena right here on the ranch so training can continue throughout the year.

Jim trains and rides colts only out of our breeding program and tunes up each Spring. Loyal customers keep him busy with training their futurity colts so they can be shown at the futurities in the fall. We do sell a few select horses from our program and enjoy watching them go on to become TALENTED PERFORMANCE HORSES.
